Guess what, winter sports fans? We’re exactly a year away from the Invictus Games’ return to Canada in 2025, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex themselves are about to pop into BC to celebrate.

The Invictus Games are a series of multi-sport events supporting the recovery of wounded, injured, and sick military veterans from across the world, founded by Prince Harry himself.

This year marks the first time that there will be a Winter Invictus Games, which will include Nordic and alpine skiing and snowboarding in addition to other adaptive sports.

According to People Magazine, the royal pair will be taking part in the ‘One Year to Go’ celebrations for the Invictus Games Whistler 2025 from Valentine’s Day to Friday, February 16th. They’ll be joined by members of the participating nations’ Winter Training Camp, which gives the international Invictus community the chance to experience winter adaptive sports ahead of the Games next winter.

The last time the royal pair were in the province, they were cheering on the Canucks in Vancouver as they faced off against the San Jose Sharks.

It was during this game that Prince Harry participated in the ceremonial puck drop and announced that the Games were coming to Vancouver and Whistler in February of 2025.

Since they made their first debut as a couple at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, according to People Magazine, we think it’s safe to say that the Games and Canada hold a special place in their hearts.

So there you have it, BC! Will you be tuning into the winter sporting events next year?
