It’s almost the festive season here in our province, and that means the holiday train is on its way! The Portage Flyer Christmas Train Ride to Santa is the most wholesome way to celebrate this cozy time of year.
Located at Muskoka Heritage Place, this historic antiquated railway train dates way back to 1904.
This scenic trip takes you along the Muskoka River on The Portage Flyer locomotive.
In December, the authentic open-air coaches will be decked out in a thousand twinkling lights.
Be sure to dress for the weather and bring a snuggly wrap along for the ride.
While you wait to board the train, you can sing along to carols and warm up with a cup of free hot chocolate and cookies, while supplies last.
Once you climb aboard, you will be gently whisked away alongside the Muskoka River to The Purser’s Cabin.
Santa Claus himself will be on site for meet and greets. You can also extend your experience by catching the next train back.
