It’s clear that while timeless picks like Buddy and Charlie remain at the top, they’re joined by some more unique choices as well. And in terms of trending pet names in Vancouver, keep your eye out for these that are gaining traction:

  • #1 Trending Dog Name: Chip (933%)
  • #1 Trending Cat Name: Sophie (696%)

Rover predicts that many more pups will be named Stanley in the coming year, which is currently trending up 200% thanks to Stanley Park. The same goes for the dog name Reggie, influenced by Canadian hockey player Reggie Leach.

Lastly, Rover notes that food-inspired cat names are on the rise in Vancouver:

  • Cookie (397%)
  • Nori (396%)
  • Coconut (297%)
  • Pickles (296%)
