It may not surprise you that Toronto’s pet parents seem to be highly influenced by pop culture and fashion when it comes to choosing a name.

Elvis the #1 trending dog name in Toronto this year, which might be due to the new Elvis film hitting theaters in 2022.

Also newly popular this year is Dax (like the Canadian rapper), trending up 616% this year. The name Chanel grew in popularity this year too.

Toronto is a multicultural city, so it’s no surprise that the most popular pet names have international influences too.

According to Rover, the cat name Minou is trending up 680% in Toronto, which is French for “Kitty.”

Dolce and Tokyo are also among two of the newly-popular names in 2022.

There you have it, friends! Did your pet’s name make the list? Don’t worry, you’re still a creative genius in our eyes.
