Popular NYC-based spot The Halal Guys is about to open its first Calgary location!

It all started with a cart and a dream! Founded in 1990 on the streets of New York, The Halal Guys have built an empire on delicious late-night bites and their too-good-to-be-true sauce. Now, with a restaurant in every other US state, plus one in the UK, they’re finally opening a location here in Calgary!

Serving chicken, Gyro and Falafel, this middle eastern/American restaurant serves generous platters of rice, salad, protein and pita covered in their famous sauce.

Now when we say famous, we mean it. According to their website, The Halal Guys are actually the #1 Most Yelped eatery in NYC and #3 in the entire United States, which is crazy impressive.

Of course, like any chain, reviews are mixed depending on their location so we can’t promise that it’s going to be the best food you’ve ever had, but we can promise that it won’t be long until you can try it for yourself!

We don’t have an exact date, but we’ll keep you guys in the know as more information rolls in. Get ready, YYC, because 17th Ave is getting another must-try restaurant!
