Alberta is getting its own magical real-life ‘Polar Express’

You can take a trip into the movie The Polar Express with this experience from Alberta Prairie Railway.

Set to the sound of the movie soundtrack, you can go through the entirety of The Polar Express live at Alberta Prairie Railway, with live actors and dancers, as well as fresh hot chocolate! This experience will sweep you right off your feet and take you into the magical holiday spirit.

What to expect

You will relive the magic of the story of The Polar Express, with the evening beginning with a grand entrance of the train arriving at the station platform. A scene occurs between the conductor and a young lad, beginning to lose his belief in the magic of Christmas.

Once the scene ends, you’ll hop aboard the train itself and experience an hour-long train ride. On this ride, hot chocolate will be served, as well as a cookie treat, by dancing and singing chefs and helpers. When you look out the window, you can see some of the magical lights set up outdoors.

During the train ride, you will be read the story of The Polar Express. Soon after, you’ll arrive at the North Pole!

Santa and his elves will board the train and give out the “first gift of Christmas,” a silver sleigh bell, to every child 12 and under. Each family is also invited to pick up and take home a souvenir ceramic Polar Express mug.

Once you’ve all sung Christmas carols, you’ll be taken back to the station for your return. This magical experience is great for the entire family, bringing cheer to everyone.

Tickets are available to book, and are already selling out. Don’t miss out!
