Jennifer Lawrence was recently filming in Calgary, Alta. for the upcoming dark romantic comedy Die My Love, alongside her co-star Robert Pattinson.
JLaw dished everywhere she went in Calgary during a recent interview, and she mentioned two locations specifically that she enjoyed heading to with her toddler in tow.
In the interview, conducted by ETalk, Lawrence shared details about taking dance lessons with Pattinson to prepare for the film.
She was also asked about how becoming a parent has changed her and how parents will reflect on her character, a writer who struggles with postpartum depression, in the film.
Toward the end of the interview, Lawrence shared her experiences filming in Calgary and around Alberta.
“Well, I had a toddler there, so I did a lot of exploring,” she confessed.
Lawrence mentioned spending quality time with her toddler at the Calgary Zoo and the Telus Spark Science Centre.
She specifically talked about the “crazy slide” that sits outside the science centre, and it seems this feature hit it off with her little one as well.
“The Saddledome was a big part of conversations,” she added. It seems our humble yet beloved saddle-shaped arena made an impression on the Hollywood starlet!
Then, she shared some more tidbits about a children’s picture book about Calgary that she read to her son.
“Somebody had given my son a book called Goodnight Calgary,” she said. “And every single night he would want me to read… and it’s like, ‘Goodnight Saddledome. Goodnight…’ and it’s just like the whole thing, over and over again,” she continued with a laugh.
The book, Night-Night Calgary, was written by Katherine Sully and features illustrations by Helen Poole of neighbourhood landmarks like the Peace bridge, Calgary Tower and Canada Olympic Park.
Filming for Die My Love began in late August 2024 and wrapped in mid-October. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and is scheduled to hit theatres on Nov. 7.
