It’s the season of sunsets on the beach, and Point Farms Provincial Park may be one of the best spots in Ontario for exactly that.

The park is located on the aqua-blue shores of Lake Huron just north of Goderich, a picturesque town that was once named the prettiest in Canada by Queen Elizabeth II.

Point Farms was once home to a popular Victorian resort, according to Ontario Parks.

Perched on a bluff, the park offers spectacular views of the glittering water and beautiful sunsets over the lake.

There are many fun activities for the whole family at this park, including a large sandy beach with good swimming, 6 km of hiking trails, playgrounds, and playing fields.

There’s even a pet-friendly area, so you can bring your pup along for the adventure.

Point Farms has camping facilities that can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents.

The summer hot spot is also fun to visit in October when families decorate their campsites for kids to trick-or-treat throughout the park.

The fun annual event is typically held on Thanksgiving weekend, says Ontario Parks.

Not far from Point Farms is Pinery Provincial Park, a “breathtakingly beautiful park with 10 km of sand beach” and rare coastal sand dunes.

Ontario Parks says that the sunsets here were once ranked among the “Top 10 Best in the World” by National Geographic.

It’s time to cross some destinations off your summer bucket list, and this is your sign to explore Lake Huron this summer.
