Food guide: Here are all the unique eats you can find at the PNE Fair this year

Every year, the vendors at Vancouver’s iconic PNE Fair bring their ‘A-game’ to the table, literally. And every year, they try to outdo themselves by coming up with whackier and more unique ideas when it comes to pushing the proverbial envelope of your taste buds.

This year, there are over 65 vendors for fair patrons to choose from, with everything from Little Coco’s squid ink corndogs and all-new ‘Kit-Kat Fries,’ to classic funnel cakes, slushies, and much more. And yes – you can count on plenty of those mini donuts to go around.

Let’s dive right into the traditional fair fare, first.

Classic eats

Expect Cin City Donuts and The Little Donut Bakery to be onsite, ready to fill the mini donut-shaped hole in your heart. And when it comes to PNE Fair food staples, all the usual suspects are there: Tornado potatoes, giant hot dogs, crazy long ‘Freakk Fries, arm-length licorice ropes, soft-serve, pretzels, kettle corn, and of course, cotton candy – you name it, they’ve got it.

In terms of returning vendors and fair food legends, there are definitely a couple of names to keep an eye out for. First, there’s Hunky Bill and their delicious pierogi and cabbage rolls. Then, there are Steve-O’s deep-fried chicken and desserts (including Kit Kat bars…), and curly fries from Fry Guys.

If you want something that will really fill you up, there are Sirius Cravings’ signature smash burgers, English-inspired fish & chips from Double Decker Diner, and meat skewers from Asian BBQ.

New fare

Now, for what’s new. Visitors can expect an array of veggie-friendly options, like smoothie bowls and toasties from Acai Dude, poke bowls and tacos from Aloha Poke, and mouthwatering vegan burgers from Plant Butcher. Our suggestion? Fuel up with a smoothie or Acai bowl, go ride some rides, and then enjoy the live performances with a Nashville Hot Un’Chkn Sando in hand.

In terms of new, funky desserts – there’s nitro ice cream and dragon puffs from Dragon’s Breath, which always bring out the inner child in us. There’s just something about liquid nitrogen and food that just makes sense.

Another great option is Fusion Icy’s fusion-inspired shaved ice treats, or Steve O’s deep-fried kit kat bars.
