We’ve done it again, folks and this year will be a wild one! After two long seasons of not being able to gather together for a North American showdown – the dome is open, the bars are packing and the enthusiasm is through the roof. Of course, not everyone will be able to snag a ticket to a Flames v. showdown – so we’ve put together a list of the best places to catch a game on the big screen. Here are 15 spots to watch the NHL Playoffs in Calgary!

Whiskey Rose Saloon opened its doors back in 2021, and they’ve truly made their mark on the Red Mile. Not only can you catch each Flames game on big screens on both levels (with sound, of course), but you can also kick back with nightly specials and maybe a bourbon or two. Plus, their newly opened patio is an ideal setting for some pre-game rays.

If you’re down in the south and prefer to avoid the craziness of downtown during playoff season, head to Mug Shotz. This iconically YYC sports bar has some of Calgary’s best wings to boot and a drink menu that doesn’t disappoint. Just don’t forget your jersey, folks, this place has some hardcore fans.

HOME AND AWAY

Located only blocks from the dome – Calgary’s Home and Away is what a would consider a ‘proper’ sports bar. With games, a ton of TVs and a fantastic menu, and a solid location this spot is a no-brainer!

Want to get a little bit rowdy? With 3 floors, 3 bars, and 1 heck of a crowd, this place is perfect to get your playoff on. Not only do they have screens on screens, but they’ve also got a devoted fan base that frequents the bar, making for an incredibly enthusiastic viewing event no matter the day of the week.

Where: 223 8 Ave SW

JOYCE ON 4th

With patio TVs, a solid menu, and a solid location, Joyce is definitely a dynamite spot to watch any of the Flames games. Sure, it’s not on the Mile, but it’s definitely got the same atmosphere!

Where: 506 24 Ave SW

BOTTLESCREW BILL’S

With (what might be) the biggest beer selection in all of Calgary, not only would we recommend checking this place out during a big game – but we’d also approve this spot as a great place for a pre-playoff sip, just so you actually have enough time to make your way through their menu. After all, hockey is best enjoyed with a cold one in hand!
