If you’re in Toronto or the GTA or even Ottawa for that matter, it will be a bit of a journey to get there but we promise you won’t regret it.
Getting there
As we said, if you’re not already living in Northern Ontario, getting to Pigeon River Provincial Park will take you a bit of time.
From Toronto/The GTA, the drive is around 15 and a half hours and from Ottawa, around 16 and a half.
There is a fee for visiting the park for the day which starts at $12.25 per vehicle.
Exploring Pigeon River Provincial Park

Start your day at Pigeon River along the Boardwalk Trail.
The accessible boardwalk stretches along to a viewing platform above the Lake Superior shoreline.
Finger Point Trail is up next and is a bit more challenging. If you’re up for it, the two-hour round-trip hike will bring hikers to a panoramic view of Lake Superior, the shores of Canada and the USA!
There’s a bench to rest at too so you can soak in the views in comfort.
Finally, it’s time to check out High Falls. High Falls Trail takes around one hour to complete, a small price to pay for a spectacular view of High Falls; shared by both Ontario and Minnesota.
The falls stand at 28 metres in height and are truly stunning.
