Well folks, the City of Surrey is at it yet again! After moving the last years’ Earth Day celebrations online, the City of Surrey is excited to announce an upcoming season of in-person events, bigger and better than ever. Party for the Planet hosted by TD Bank is excitedly returning to the Surrey Civic Plaza on Saturday, April 30th for a day of celebration from 11 AM to 7 PM.
And, it’s touting to be the largest in-person celebration for Earth Day in all of B.C.! Party for the Planet is going big this year on both accounts. 1) Education, ‘cause you aren’t living if you aren’t learning, and 2) entertainment! ‘Cause being pro-Earth is too damn fun.
On the educational front, there will be environmental workshops and an educational speaker series. These will help attendees of all ages grasp the importance and urgency of a sustainable lifestyle. Helping attendees find ways to live more sustainably and contribute to the save the planet movement? Sign. Us. UP!
Alongside these informative talks and workshops, the event will also feature live performances on the TD Main Stage all day long with musicians, dancers, Indigenous performers and an acoustic concert series. The performer lineup includes popular artists like Post-Modern Connection, Josh Bogert, DACEY, Candace Curr, Ranj Singh, DJ A-SLAM, Ginalina and Jenny Banai among others.
And one performance that’s getting us all pumped up is the dance battle that will take place on the new Plaza Stage. Definitely something to look out for!
In addition, there will also be other fun stuff to check out like the Sustainable Marketplace, a clothing swap and many kids activities. Oh, and there will also be a plant sale by Surrey Parks where you can bag a plant baby (or four).
And because no party is ever complete without great food, this one has you covered there too. Expect drool-worthy plant-based dishes from popular vegan food trucks, Chickpea and Dirty Vegan.
So, round up the fam, gather up the gang and head to the Surrey Civic Plaza on Earth Day. The time to go sustainable is NOW!
