Paris is tucked away in a quaint river valley at the joining of the Nith and Grand Rivers in Brant County.

“A place where a short stroll, a single bite, or a quiet moment of reflection can magically transport you through space and in time,” says the Paris tourism website.

The town is known for other defining features including the cobblestone that makes up some of the historic buildings.

According to Brant County, “Paris is known as the Cobblestone Capital of Canada. Stones were pulled from the riverbed, after years of tumbling smooth and found in farmer’s fields. Once cleaned and dried they were layered like a birthday cake with cement icing holding it all together.”

“Except for just three, all cobblestone buildings known to exist in Canada are in the County of Brant.”

Be sure to stroll the downtown core and check out the little slices of history, and while you’re there grab a seat at one of the best spots to gaze at the Grand River.

Stillwaters Plate and Pour is a must-try, with the restaurant’s gorgeous patio overlooking the flowing river.

End your day in Paris, Ontario with a stroll down the beautiful boardwalk that winds along the Grand River.
