If hanging out in Gastown is your favourite summer pastime, we’ve got great news for you. Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood is once again celebrating its history, art, and cuisine with a free street party this August, so get ready for this year’s ‘Meet Me in Gastown’ festival!
Festival-goers get to indulge in the best eats in town, with local restaurants and pubs setting up at Maple Tree Square and along Water Street with bites priced between $4 and $17 each.
They’ll also get to enjoy live music at the Maple Tree Square Stage, and sip on bevies at Monarca or Guilt & Co.’s extended cocktail patios.

Organized by Low Tide Properties along with the Gastown Business Improvement Society and multiple other groups, the event will close Water Street from Abbott to Carrall to all vehicles, allowing visitors to roam the area car-free.
Meet Me in Gastown will take place on Thursday, August 15th from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Those who want to keep the party going after the event ends can check out after-party celebrations at Monarca, Guilt & Co., and Carrall St. Alley – which will be led by DJ Farshad from 8 pm to 10 pm.
So there you have it, Vancouver! Consider this your sign if you haven’t spent some quality time in Gastown yet this summer.
