One of BC’s most popular ski resorts is in a quaint mountain village known for stunning Nordic trails

If you’re counting the days to the start of ski season, it’s a great time to add a couple of prime winter destinations to your map, and that includes the quaint Panorama Mountain Village, British Columbia.

SItuated in the Purcell Mountains, the small mountain town is full of charm, history, and winter recreation opportunities at one of BC’s most popular ski resorts.

In fact, the Alpine Club of Canada once named the Panorama Mountain Resort the “Resort of the Year,” according to Tourism Columbia Valley.

Located in the heart of the “powder highway,” the village itself absolutely comes to life during the colder months, with tons of fresh snow and “hours and hours of sunshine.”

The ski resort is ski-in/ski-out, with one of North America’s longest vertical descents and a great variety of skiable terrain.

Nordic ski trails

This includes over 30 kilometres of groomed, cross-country and skate ski trails that wind through the magical forest blanketing the mountain. Whether you want to go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, you’ll have plenty of ways to enjoy the scenic mountain views on your journey.

According to Tourism Columbia Valley, there are also snowshoe-specific trails to explore via the Panorama Nordic Network.

Need a couple of pointers before hitting the slopes? The Panorama Snow School is renowned for its group and private ski and snowboard lessons.

So there you have it, BC! This one’s a great destination to bookmark for ski season.
