Off to the Races: The Packwood Grand is back in Edmonton this weekend

Got a surplus of linen suits kicking around? Buying bigger and bigger hats, but with nowhere to wear them? Fear not, because the Packwood Grand is about to make its triumphant return to Edmonton! The exclusive day at the races is back this weekend, and we’ve got everything you need to know if you decide to go.

Held annually in both Calgary and Edmonton, the Packwood Grand is an ode to the extravagant horse races around the world. Guests are invited to dress up, some of the biggest names in the world hop in as sponsors, and of course, a two-dollar longshot bet on a horse that you simply like the name of is encouraged.

So, whether you’re more about sipping some Veuve or cheering on a horse named ‘Fancy Lad’s Revenge the Third’, the Packwood Grand has what you need. The only drawback? Tickets are by ‘invitation only’, so you’ll need to figure your plans out quick if you actually want to attend. (Don’t worry though- according to recent posts on social media, some tickets are still available)
