These thundering whitewater falls are among the most beautiful in Ontario

Ontario is full of beautiful cascading waterfalls – and that’s the truth! But if you’re looking for the best around, Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park is said to be home to one of the top waterfalls in the whole province.

Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park is located about three and a half hours north of Toronto.

According to Ontario Parks, there’s a short trail from the parking lot will take you straight to a lookout point so you can witness the thundering cascading waters.

Further up the trail, you will come upon Gravel Falls, which “demonstrates the powerful, erosive force of glacial meltwater,” says Ontario Parks.

Both Ontario Parks and Muskoka Tourism have called these falls one of Ontario’s top 10 waterfalls.

You’ll be treated to some incredible views of rushing river rapids and cascading waters.

This provincial park is open seasonally from mid-May through October. This year, the park closes on October 20th.

It’s the perfect pit stop along the way to Algonquin or as an activity during your visit to cottage country.

Have fun and take pics!
