For the 7th year in a row, this event will be a major part of the Silver Skate Festival which is 10 days long and kicks off in February of 2024.

Held in Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, those who check out the 2024 IFWC are encouraged to celebrate the efforts of up-and-coming writers, cinematographers and actors, but don’t hesitate to check it out.

While their snow screen may be giant, there will be only so many seats front and centre so prepare to plan ahead. After all, it is ‘the world’s only completely free outdoor winter film festival.’

Interested? This year, organizers will offer a wider variety of films in length, origin and subject, plus they’ll have themed nights with a focus on things like family-friendly flicks and locally made pieces.

If however, you’re looking for a date night idea, they’ll also have a Valentine-centic evening.

Check it out and enjoy Edmonton. There’s nothing else quite like it.
