Another stat holiday? Already? You better believe it! On Monday, August 7th, 2023, government employees and shops all over the city will be closing early or taking the entire day off, so take note, friends, because nothing kills a vibe quicker than a locked door. Here is everything open and closed on Heritage Day in Edmonton.

MOVIE THEATRES
Hoping to catch a flick this upcoming Monday? Landmark Cinemas and Cineplex locations across the city will all be open so pop some corn and settle in!
THE LANDFILL
Good news, errand-doers, the Landfill will also be open this year on Monday. Check out their hours here.
MALLS
Though we’d recommend checking their hours before heading out, West Edmonton Mall, Kingsway, Southgate Centre and Edmonton City Centre Mall will be open.

A little Heritage Day road trip? Why not? Our first option for those looking to get outta town is the U of A Botanic Garden, which offers hundreds of acres of incredible gardens and makes a great destination for those who crave a relaxed day outside.

Sorry, folks – but this Heritage Day, many of Edmonton’s Recreational centres will be closed in lieu of the stat.

From the passport office to the DMV, all government offices will be closed on Heritage Day.
