Ontario’s student summer program has thousands of jobs & you can apply now

Though we’re fresh into 2024, it looks like you can start applying for student summer jobs in Ontario. The provincial government is now accepting applications for thousands of full-time and new graduate work opportunities this summer.

Ontario’s Summer Employment Opportunities program provides full-time positions for students and new graduates at one of their ministries, provincial agencies, or community groups. Depending on the job you apply for, they could last for seven to 18 weeks starting in May until September.

Some students could easily make between $16.55 to $17.40 per hour if hired. There are thousands of summer jobs available in cities across the province so all you have to do is apply for the type of job that interests you and you’ll be connected with those available in your city.

In order to qualify, you must be an Ontario resident and at least 15 years of age, enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution, or must have graduated within the past six months, and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

It’s important to note that each job ad may have a different application deadline so be aware of that before you apply. The portal to apply officially closes on June 1, 2024 11:59 PM EDT.
