The best outdoor skating trails and loops in Ontario

Nothing is more magical than skating through a snowy winter forest, surrounded by nature. If you’re in need of a little winter escape, just before the year ends, why not explore the many skating trails and loops Ontario has to offer? We’ve put together a list of lengthy skating trails and loops in Ontario that are a must-try this winter season:

Arrowhead Provincial Park

The park is home to the “longest outdoor man-made skating rink” in Ontario.

Per Destination Ontario, its 1.3-kilometre skating trail weaves through the forest, offering skaters a magical winter experience.

“Opened in 2012 on a whim and a vision, the Ice Skating Trail has become one of the region’s most popular winter attractions, and one of the province’s most sought-after winter ‘bucket list’ experiences,” shares Discover Muskoka.

The park also hosts its popular Fire and Ice nights, where torch lights line the trail. It’s a magical experience and is beloved every winter.
