Ontario’s fall weather forecast is out & here’s what to expect

Autumn is around the corner, but if you’re not ready to let go of summer just yet, it looks like you’re in luck this year. Ontario’s fall weather forecast is here and it’s good news for lovers of warm weather.

AccuWeather predicts that Canada will experience very different autumn conditions this year, depending on what side of the country you live in.

Fortunately for us Ontarians, we’ll get the better end of the bargain than those out west.

“A drier and warmer fall is expected across much of eastern Canada, including Quebec and northern and central Ontario,” said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson.

The warm and dry conditions will make for “brilliant” fall foliage in eastern Canada.

Given that our autumn leaves are gorgeous to begin with here in Ontario, we’re very much looking forward to what this season brings.

However, there is one downside to the drier weather, and that’s an increased risk of wildfires.

“A lack of wet weather this fall will continue to dry out any ground and may raise the wildfire risk across the rest of the province,” writes AccuWeather.

According to Anderson, “nights can quickly turn cold due to the drier ground,” which could mean early frosts or freezes.

All of that still sounds better than what’s on tap for western Canada, where a wetter and cooler-than-average fall is expected.

We may not have much summer left to go, but at least we can be optimistic about gorgeous fall weather.
