Canada’s largest butter tart festival is coming to Ontario this weekend

Calling all sweet tooths. Canada’s original and largest butter tart festival is coming back to Ontario this month and there will be 200,000 treats up for grabs!

If you’re a fan of the Canadian pastry, make sure to plan a trip to Midland, Ontario on June 10th, 2023, and experience the Butter Tart Festival in all its glory.

The event will take place across the downtown core and waterfront of Midland with over 200 vendors participating.

According to the festival website, the number of butter tarts available increases every year – more than triple the amount of visitors expected to attend.

So you can rest assured you’ll head home with a nice bag of tarts to enjoy.

Butter tart flavours that you may come across include plain, raisin, pecan, walnut, Skor, maple, bacon, coconut, chocolate covered, PB&J, s’mores, gluten-free, vegan, and so many more. The combinations are practically endless!

This is also a great opportunity to shop local and support businesses in Midland. Some will offer festival sales and deals you can’t pass up.

In addition to butter tarts galore, festival-goers will also enjoy live music, shopping from local vendors, food trucks, buskers, and entertainment.

To tie it all together, the festival includes a contest to award the prize for the best Butter Tart in Ontario – judged by celebrities, chefs, food and travel bloggers, and local dignitaries.

This family-friendly festival will also feature a kids’ zone, free shuttles, and a butter tart trot.

We can’t wait!
