We all know that restaurants across the nation have been hurting during the COVID-19 pandemic. And while our city has been blessed to see a lot of new openings, there have also been a lot of closures. And of the most recent and also biggest closures is Tom Douglas’s iconic Dahlia Lounge.

If you’ve lived in Seattle for a while you’ve most likely dined at Dahlia Lounge. The restaurant was a staple in the Seattle brunch scene and also the restaurant that launched Douglas’s career. Not to mention it had also been open since 1989 and is yet another loss to Seattle’s core restaurants.

However, the space won’t be empty for long. And that’s because Serious Pie and Dahlia Bakery will be taking over the space. That being said, it will be hard to replace this unforgettable restaurant and all of the memories Seattleites have had here over the years. So while we’re sad to see this spot go, we hope that the sibling restaurants can find success in the space.
