Built in 1988 for the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, this inner-city destination has one of the few refrigerated outdoor ice surfaces in the entire city.

Here, visitors can take a lap or two between 10 am and 9 pm daily and this year, are even encouraged to attend their big launch party on December 2nd, 2023 (between 12 pm and 3 pm) to celebrate!

Not only will the rink be decked out in holiday decor, but there will also be music, free coffee and hot chocolate in case you get chilly.

Don’t have a pair of skates? Don’t worry! Not only is Olympic Plaza one of the most beautiful spots in the city in the wintertime, but it’s also one of the most convenient.

Not only is it close to restaurants, shops and work, but they’ve got their very own rental hut that offers everything from a toddler size 7 to a men’s size 16 as well as skating aids and helmets for children and adults.

If you’re interested in checking it out – enjoy!

It’s going to be a magical year, Calgary.
