A stylish new Italian restaurant is opening in Coal Harbour this spring

This spring, a new contemporary Italian restaurant is coming to Coal Harbour. How do we say, “we’re ready to eat our weight in gnocchi” in Italian?!

The team that brought us the award-winning el Santo in New West is opening another soon-to-be-gem, named after the ancient Roman goddess of the night, Nox.

That’s right, the goddess that was feared by Zeus himself is coming to Coal Harbour. Only instead of bringing shadows and darkness, she’s bringing fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with a traditional Italian twist.

Influenced by the West Coast’s “micro-seasons” and the Italian philosophy of using what’s fresh and local, NOX will utilize changing menus to create truly unique dishes made with only the best ingredients.

Even the wine list looks divine! General Manager and Wine Director Lucia Nahacka is committed to focusing on boutique wineries with sustainable practices in both B.C. and Italy.

Managing Director Alejandro Diaz recognizes the current “trendiness” of contemporary Italian food in the industry. “NOX is contemporary, but not trendy. If the food at the restaurant is not great and doesn’t make guests feel special, people won’t come back.”

He and Chef Sam Fabbro are passionate about creating a memorable experience for their guests through carefully crafted plates that represent the best of Italian cuisine and the West Coast culinary scene. “At NOX, we expect to see many regulars.” Count us in, NOX team!

The space itself is located on West Georgia St., nestled between some great cafes and hidden bars in the picturesque neighbourhood of Coal Harbour. The decor is as carefully selected as its menu—minimal by design, with a focus on sustainability.

Like so many new ventures in Vancouver, the opening of NOX was delayed by the pandemic. Thankfully, we’re finally in 2022 and we all know that good things come to those who wait. (But seriously, the anticipation is killing us!)

Stay up to date on all the deets on their Instagram, and keep your eye out for their food and drink menus! We’ll be sure to check back in when NOX opens.

We’ll see you there, Vancouver!
