If you love the cooler weather that fall brings, along with the beautiful sights of changing leave colors, check out these scenic train rides in Washington. The Northwest Railway Museum will have a couple of train excursions this season & here’s what they entail.
There are generally two train rides running on Saturdays and Sundays, with both being 2-hour round trip excursions from either Snoqualmie Depot or North Bend Depot.
First, let’s look at the train ride leaving from the North Bend Dept. This scenic ride takes you through the upper Snoqualmie Valley aboard historic rail equipment. Starting in North Bend, you will head west to the Snoqualmie Depot.
“After a quick stop to pick up passengers, continue travelling west to the top of Snoqualmie Falls, pausing at the crest for a view of the lower river valley. Return east to the Railway History Center (RHC) for a 30-minute stopover to visit the Train Shed Exhibit Hall. Then hop back aboard and return to the North Bend Depot,” states the description.
This train boards at the North Bend Depot: 205 E McClellan Street, North Bend, WA. They depart on select weekends each month, and start on September 14th, 2024 and run through November 4th, 2024. There are several departures a day, and tickets start at $19 for Children (ages 2-12), and $38 per adult.
And the second available ride departs from Snoqualmie Depot. Also a scenic train ride, this one journeys west to the top of Snoqualmie Falls, pausing at the crest for a view of the lower river valley.
You will then “return east to the Railway History Center (RHC) for a 30-minute stopover to visit the Train Shed Exhibit Hall. Then hop back aboard and continue travelling east to the North Bend Depot. After a quick stop to pick up passengers, you’ll return to the Snoqualmie Depot.”
This train boards at 38625 SE King Street, Snoqualmie. This also begins on September 14th through November 4th, with multiple departures a day starting at $19 per child, and $38 per adult.
All aboard!
