If you love a good spa date (even if it’s solo), this is for you. The holidays can look different for everyone, but one thing most can agree on is the need to unwind and refocus come January.

So we’ve gone ahead and rounded up some of the best Nordic spas in Vancouver – AKA the best spots for hot and cold plunging. Your body and your mind will thank you!

The Nordic Spa at Fairmont Pacific Rim

Let’s start with one of the newest on the scene. The Nordic Spa at the Fairmont Pacific Rim just launched this past November, and consists of hot and cold plunges, heated relaxation lounges, guided yoga classes, and much more. The experience promises to be transformative and healing, offering unparalleled full-body rejuvenation and restoration, according to the spa’s website.

The outdoor thermal spa is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm on the hotel’s sixth-floor pool deck.

Tality Spa

Another spot that’s committed to the cold water plunges is none other than Tality Wellness – which now has multiple Nordic spa experiences in BC with hot-cold cycling and kombucha on tap. Check out their OG Dominion Street location, Shipyards 25-person spa, and new Forest Spa in downtown Kelowna.

The Finnish Sauna

Established in Vancouver in 2019, The Finnish Sauna initially brought the Nordic spa experience via travelling mobile saunas. Today, visitors have two permanent locations in Vancouver and Squamish (open for private bookings only) to choose from, both featuring wood-fired saunas – as well as the option of a mobile spa experience (extends to Greater Vancouver, Squamish, and Whistler).

Scandinave Spa

For a scenic Whistler backdrop, spa-goers can check out the famed Scandinave Spa experience, which offers 25,000 square feet of luxurious thermal spa space – complete with a Scandinavian bath. The immersive journey can also be accompanied by a thermal massage, perfect if you’re coming back from a day on the slopes.

This one’s in Victoria, and as the first floating spa in BC, it definitely warrants a spot on this list. Located on the edge of Victoria’s inner harbour, this spa experience features a lush garden patio, cold pools, hot tubs, and hand-built saunas.

So there you have it, Vancouver. If you’re looking for a way to unwind this month, consider checking out one of these Nordic spa experiences.
