Summer nights are about to get better in our city. The first-ever night market in North York is taking place in July and it’s going to be massive.

The night market will take over Mel Lastman Square just north of Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue.

The event is put on by Street Eats Market and will feature over 80 vendors in total!

Bring your appetite for the massive variety of international street food and tasty drinks.

You’ll also get to dance the evening away with live music and DJs.

There will be plenty of games including a claw machine arcade, an artisan marketplace, and live entertainment — we’re talking dance battles!

The best part? Admission is free and it’s also pet-friendly, so you don’t have to leave your furry companion at home.

The fun begins on the evening of Friday, July 14th, and will continue well after sundown.

Festivities resume the following day from 2 PM to 11 PM and will close out at 8 PM on Sunday the 16th.

There are so many Street Eats events to look forward to this summer, including another foodie-centric festival in North York on September 9th.

It’s going to be an eventful summer at Mel Lastman with the annual Canada Day festival returning on July 1st.

The Canada Day party will have live performances from The Haneen Woman Choir, Trash Panda Brass, JER, Celtic duo Alana and Leah Cline, and family-friendly activities showcasing newcomer artists.

It looks like you don’t need to head downtown to be at the heart of the action this season!
