Ready for a high-flying adventure? Niagara’s Whirlpool Aero car is open for the season, whisking you high above the rushing Niagara River in an antique cable car.

The Aero car has been in operation since 1916, transporting passengers between two points along the Canadian shore of the river. It has received several upgrades and design and function over the years but has preserved its classic look.

As you glide through the air, you’ll have a perfect view of the fascinating phenomenon that is the Niagara Whirlpool.

The Whirlpool is “formed at the end of the rapids where the gorge turns abruptly counterclockwise and the river escapes through the narrowest channel in the gorge,” says Niagara Falls Tourism.

“The torrent of water abruptly changes direction and creates one of the world’s most mesmerizing natural phenomenon — the Niagara Whirlpool.”

The experience is described as “sometimes frightening and always unforgettable,” so consider this your warning! Don’t worry, the cable car is held up by six sturdy cables to keep you safe during your airborne adventure.
