This driving route in Ontario has breathtaking views & scenic stops

It’s time to hit the road! The famous and historic Niagara Parkway will take you on a whirlwind of incredible sights and destinations.

Established in 1931, the Niagara Parkway is one of the oldest in Ontario, says Niagara Falls Tourism.

It stretches for 55 km and runs parallel to the stunning Niagara River.

The scenic beauty of this driving route is not overrated.

In fact, the tourism website says that when British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill visited Niagara Falls in 1943, he said that the Niagara Parkway was the “prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world.”

Views of the rushing river will make it hard to keep your eyes on the road, so be sure to switch spots with your passenger so everyone gets a turn to sit back and enjoy!

A map provided by Niagara Parks shows you all the best places to visit along the Parkway, from nature trails to shopping to dining to attractions.

And we can’t forget about Niagara’s breathtaking rapid-side boardwalk, the White Water Walk!

Next up are the Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Conservatory, two must-visit destinations in the area.

As Churchill once said, this is the world’s best Sunday drive. So pick a Sunday and get ready for the drive of a lifetime!
