Canada has some breathtaking sights to see, Niagara Falls being one of them. Every year National Geographic releases its Best of the World list and the 2024 edition has eclipse-watching at Ontario’s Niagara Falls ranked in the top 20 travel experiences.

Catch the eclipse at Niagara Falls comes in at number 11 on the list of top 20 travel experiences for 2024.

According to National Geographic, “Directly in the path of totality, Niagara Falls will offer views of a total solar eclipse, which won’t occur again in the contiguous U.S. until 2044. For about three and a half minutes, beginning at approximately 3:18 p.m. on April 8, the sky will darken over the thunderous cataract as the moon crosses between Earth and the sun. ”

National Geographic also added the best spot for Canadians to view the eclipse, mentioning that an excellent vantage point is Table Rock. A side bonus? The sunny-day rainbow that hovers above the falls will become pink during the eclipse.

If you were wondering what experiences topped the list, ski tour UNESCO sites in Georgia came in at number three, run an Olympic marathon in Paris took the number two spot and coming in at number one is go on a horseback safari in Kenya.

If you want to check out the eclipse at Niagara Falls and experience it yourself, the eclipse is happening on Monday, April 8th, 2024 and will begin at 2:04 PM and will end at 4:32 PM with three minutes duration of totality, running 2.5 hours start to finish.
