10 cities and towns in Ontario to catch New Year’s Eve fireworks

New Year’s Eve fireworks in Ontario will soon leave you in awe as they light up the night sky ushering in 2025. Cities and towns across the province are hosting New Year’s Eve festivities with food, free drinks and dazzling fireworks displays.

If you’re looking for places to celebrate the incoming new year, here’s where you can do that in Ontario.

Where to catch New Year’s Eve fireworks in Ontario?

Barrie

Ring in the New Year in downtown Barrie. This annual event has been a hit every year since 1998 and you know they’re doing it big again. Take part in family activities, skating and two fireworks shows to end the night.

It is one of Central Ontario’s largest New Year’s Eve celebrations and it’s free to enjoy. It all kicks off starting at 6 p.m.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 6 p.m.
Where: Barrie City Hall, 70 Collier Street Barrie
Cost: Free

Blyth

Enjoy Blyth’s Drive-in Fireworks show. Celebrations will take place at the Blyth Fairgrounds and will include free skating at the Blyth Arena from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 6 p.m.
Where: Blyth Campground – 377 Gypsy Lane – Blyth
Cost: Free

Kingsville

In the Kingsville area? Celebrate the last few hours of the year with a free skating session, hot chocolate and crafts! Stick around for the 7 p.m., launch of fireworks to end off the New Year right.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 4:30 p.m.
Where: 1741 Jasperson Dr – Kingsville
Cost: Free

Lasalle 

The town of LaSalle welcomes all to enjoy the fireworks display at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex. You can park your car and enjoy the show starting right at 7:30 p.m. It’s free to enjoy!

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex, 2121 Laurier Parkway LaSalle
Cost: Free

London 

London’s annual New Year’s Eve in the Park returns to Victoria Park on Dec. 31, from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Victoria Park will be transformed for the occasion, with live music, entertainment, and outdoor ice skating available until 9 p.m. Sip on free hot chocolate and enjoy the stunning holiday lights. “As an added treat, Star Wars characters will be on-site during the concert, making it a perfect opportunity for kids and families to snap a photo with their favourite intergalactic heroes,” shares the city.

Enjoy performances by local artists Nick Gordon and Paul Stock, along with two dazzling fireworks displays to end the night.

Mississauga

Mississauga’s annual New Year’s Eve party at Celebration Square is back! According to the city, Maestro Fresh Wes brings his kid-friendly album to the main stage for a live show. Other performers will also take the stage like DijahSB, Shad and AR Paisley.

“With tasty food trucks, special Square One giveaways, skating on the City’s largest outdoor rink, fireworks presented by Tim Hortons, and so much more, the Square is the best spot to kick-off 2025,” shares the city – and it sounds like they’re right.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 8 p.m.
Where: Celebration Square, 300 City Centre Dr – Mississauga
Cost: Free

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls Tourism told Curiocity that at this moment, hosted entertainment is not planned BUT its annual fireworks show is!

There will be two: one at 8 p.m., which will last about 5 minutes and one at midnight which will last about 9 minutes.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 8 p.m.
Where: Queen Victoria Park, 6345 Niagara River Pkwy – Niagara Falls
Cost: Free

North Bay 

In North Bay for New Year’s Eve? Take part in an evening of New Year’s Eve fun with skating, face painting, interactive reptile shows, magic shows, a colouring contest, and fireworks to end the night at 9 p.m.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 5 p.m.
Where: Thomson Park, 1201 Cassells Street – North Bay
Cost: Free

Toronto

Ontario’s capital city will ring in the New Year with a dazzling show along the waterfront. The Harbourfront Centre will have a free DJ Skate Night, a food market and a countdown to 2025.

It will end the night with a 10-minute fireworks show, synchronized to music.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 8 p.m. to midnight
Where: Along the Toronto Waterfront – Harbourfront Centre
Cost: Free

Whitchurch-Stouffville

The town of Stouffville will also be having a family-friendly New Year’s Eve event, with free hot beverages (while supplies last), food trucks, and live entertainment. The rain or shine event opens at 6 p.m. and ends with a fireworks show starting at 7 p.m.

When: Dec. 31, 2024, starting at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Memorial Park, 2 Park Dr, – Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ont.
Cost: Free
