Whether you’re looking for a serene spot for a morning stroll, a family-friendly playground, or a picturesque setting with stunning views, these upcoming parks promise something for everyone to enjoy right in Toronto.

Though we love our green, outdoor spaces, some new ones don’t hurt either!

Some of these parks are slated to be completed this spring while others by the end of summer.

The city does note that the timeline could change but updates show that we’re on the right track.

Here are five new parks opening in Toronto just in time for summer:

New Park on Glengarry Avenue

According to the city, this new park will feature a children’s play area, a shade structure, a seating area and a future connection to Douglas Avenue or Avenue Road.

When: To be completed by May 2024
Where: 250 Lawrence Ave

Mirvish Village Park

This new park will be located at the former Honest Ed’s site and “surrounding Mirvish Village as part of a new mixed-use residential development project,” per the city.

The park will include bird-friendly gardens, trees, a children’s water feature and sitting and picnic opportunities.

When: To be completed by late summer 2024
Where: 581 Bloor St W

New Park at 31 Innes Avenue

Now this one has yet to be under construction however it is set to be worked on this summer with an anticipated opening of August 2024.

Though not much will be featured here, it is a smaller green space with ample grounds for the community to enjoy.

New Park at 55 Isaac Devins Boulevard

Part of a residential development project near Weston Road and Sheppard Avenue West, this park is proposed to have a playground, fitness equipment, shade features, water bottle filler, seating, pathways, new plants and a fence.

Construction is slated to start this spring with completion around summer 2024.

When: To be completed by summer 2024
Where: 55 Isaac Devins Boulevard

New Park at 134 Portland Street

According to the city, this new park on Portland St will feature a custom designed roof pattern shade structure with a unique shape and coloured accents, café-style tables, seat walls, and pebble seating, three large planting areas with canopy trees, a water bottle filling station and drinking fountain.
