And thankfully, Netflix has made it easier for us to answer these questions. There’s a website that gives you an inside look at all of the Netflix shows and movies filmed in Ontario.

Netflix in Your Neighbourhood showcases all the Canadian filming locations used in Netflix originals and info about each town and city where the filming occurred.

CODE 8 PART II


The action-packed, superhuman movie stars Toronto-born actors Robbie and Stephen Amell. It is set in the “fictional Lincoln City where corruption and superhumans run rampant, industrial,” according to Netflix. It’s filmed all over at specific locations such as the former Kingston Penitentiary in Kingston; University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus in Mississauga; Manor House of Auchmar in Hamilton and Toronto’s Danforth neighbourhood and Ted’s Restaurant in Scarborough made an appearance.

You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah


This hilarious teen comedy with Adam Sandler, his wife Jackie, and daughters Sunny and Sadie, was filmed at the Synagogue Beth Tzedec Congregation Temple and Hudson’s Bay Sherway Gardens in Toronto, FIORI Oakville, Elora Quarry Conservation Area and Markville Secondary School in Unionville.

Restaurants on the Edge


Season one, episodes seven and 10, were filmed in Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula. Here’s where Coconut Joe’s Harbour Bar and Grill, a Caribbean-inspired eatery is located, featured on Restaurants on the Edge.

Painkiller

This limited, six-episode series was filmed in three Ontario locations: Toronto, Mississauga, and Georgetown. You may spot Toronto’s Rebel nightclub and Cabana Pool Bar, Scooter’s Roller Palace in Mississauga, and RJ’s Muffler Shop in Georgetown.

Awake


Sci-fi flick staring Gina Rodriguez is not for the weak. “Global hysteria ensues after a mysterious catastrophe wipes out all electronics and takes away humanity’s ability to sleep,” shares Netflix. Now that’s a movie that’ll keep you up at night… Anyway, Awake was filmed in Hamilton, Peterborough, and Uxbridge.

Ginny & Georgia


Heading into its third season, the hit show Ginny & Georgia was filmed in Cobourg and Toronto.

Fubar

This Netflix movie starring ex-Californian Governor and Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger was filmed in Toronto, Mississauga, and Oakville.

The stars of Fubar had nothing but delightful things to say about our beloved city and shared their love of Toronto in the summertime.

Luckiest Girl Alive

This flick starring Mila Kunis was filmed in Toronto and Whitby, which were disguised as New York City.

Wedding Season


This rom-com was shot in Caledon and Toronto including Little India, according to the site.

“Oh my god, it was a blast. We had the best time,” said star Suraj Sharma in an interview with Netflix

“The people were kind, the weather was great, the food was amazing, the coffee we had was fantastic […] We had the best time. I mean, I personally love Toronto.”

Locke & Key


This popular series not only has a Canadian connection, thanks to star Connor Jessup, but it was also filmed across Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Ontario cities include Woodstock, Whitchurch-Stouffville, and Hamilton.
