All 47 national parks will be FREE to visit on Canada Day

If you were looking for something fun to do on Canada Day, you can enjoy free admission at national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas.

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault, who also happens to be responsible for Parks Canada, welcomes all to “connect with some of the most iconic destinations in Canada” with free entry.

“I encourage everyone to make the most of this national holiday by learning more about our country’s diverse history or connecting with friends and family in nature,” said Minister Guilbeault.

“These treasured places offer visitors unique opportunities to have open discussions about what this day means to them and how we can all work together to listen to and accept one another.”

Not only will you have the chance to dive deep into what makes us Canadian via its history and culture, but also provides an opportunity to reflect. You’ll have the opportunity to learn “about the historic and contemporary contributions of Indigenous peoples, their histories, and cultures, as well as the special relationships Indigenous peoples have with ancestral lands and waters.”

Nationwide, Parks Canada consists of 171 national historic sites, 47 national parks, five national marine conservation areas, and one national urban park.
