Canada is having a massive pet adoption week & here’s what to know

Looking for companionship? If you’re willing and able, there’s never been a better time to find your fur-ever friend, as the National Adoption Week has returned to Canada and this year, they’re celebrating their 25th anniversary.
Hosted by PetSmart Charities of Canada, this heartwarming event will give people across the country an opportunity to meet and greet dogs, cats, and even small critters, like rabbits and guinea pigs.
Starting today, October 21st, the public is encouraged to visit a PetSmart store to get to know their featured animals—and you never know, you might just find your new bestie!
“It’s so special to be able to celebrate that thousands of families have opened their hearts to 400,000 pets in need of homes as we continue to celebrate PetSmart Charities of Canada’s 25th anniversary year,” said Heidi Marston, Director of pet placement at PetSmart Charities of Canada.
“We’re grateful for our local shelter and rescue partners that give compassionate care to adoptable pets as they wait for people to love.”
