There’s a famous waterfall & riverside boardwalks in this charming Ontario town

Lennox and Addington County is known for its beautiful lakeside views, nature scenes, and historic buildings. There are several towns and communities that make up this county but only one is known for its gorgeous waterfall. Here’s what to know about Napanee.

About a two-hour drive east of Toronto is the small, quaint town of Napanee. What Destination Ontario calls “the heart of Lennox and Addington County”, is home to beautiful parks, a bustling downtown core, an exciting waterfront, and historic buildings.

The town offers that small-town feel, without being too far away from major cities, so it serves as a great day escape whenever you feel like going for a drive.

If you’re looking for a truly rewarding experience, head to Springfield Park. Here you’ll find the Springside Parks Falls and Napanee River.

“Napanee Falls cascade for tens of metres, giving viewers a mesmerizing look at the sheer power of water,” shares Naturally L&A.

You can embark on a scenic fall walk along a fully accessible path that leads to a Conservation Park.

According to the site, the Napanee River is “one of only two places in the world that experiences ‘seiche’, tidal changes of anywhere from six to 16 inches due to winds that blow southwest along Lake Ontario.”

Whether Napanee serves as a pit stop to your next destination or you’re on a small-town adventure, exploring the sights of Ontario, you’re in for a great time.

Especially in the fall, Napanee is the place to truly experience the wonders of a small-town.
