You can watch free movies in a park full of tulips in Ontario this spring

Spring is a time for flowers and outdoor activities, and this event might be the perfect combination of the two. Movies & Tulips is coming to Ontario and it’s a chance to enjoy free outdoor movies among rows of colourful flowers.

Bring your own picnic to this special outdoor movie series taking place from May 12th to May 22nd.

You’ll get to watch today’s most popular movies and there are two films playing daily, in the afternoon and evening.

The event is part of the Canadian Tulip Festival and will take place in Commissioners Park at Dow’s Lake in Ottawa.

Here you’ll be treated to a stunning display of 300,000 tulips gifted from the Netherlands.

The flowers span over a kilometer of parkland on the shores of Dow’s Lake, where the free movies will be playing.

If you don’t have your own picnic and blanket to bring, there will be Tulip Festival blankets for sale and food vendors on site.

There are several activities you can take part in during the festival too, which come at an extra cost.

Enjoy a Tulip Legacy Walking tour, or for something a little more chilling, sign up for the Ghosts of the Glebe walking tour.

You can also stroll the lit garden beds at night and see tulips in a whole new and beautiful way.

Visitors will be treated to the Battle of the Atlantic Sound & Light Show, a free display that will light up the waters of Dow’s Lake for 11 nights of the festival.

The riveting show will illustrate the Battle of the Atlantic using fog lights, water cannon effects, and a dramatic music score.

The nightly show as well as the daily movies are free to the public. So, grab a blanket and enjoy the show!
