We’ve got some sweet treats for the heat coming this spring, and we think that can’t be beat! Kitchen Table Group just announced its newest concept, Motorino, which will be serving up gelato and more from the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver.

Now you might be thinking to yourself, wait a second, wasn’t another gelato spot there before? And you’d be right, as none other than Bella Gelateria occupied the same spot for years, before making a move to the West End. So, there are some pretty big shoes to fill, but we think Motorino is more than up to the task.

Taking inspiration from the Vespa (motorino more or less means moped), the shop will be using local and seasonal ingredients to craft authentic Italian gelato. But, that’s not all they’ve got planned. In addition, visitors will be able to try granita, a Sicilian frozen treat that can be paired with brioche that becomes a ‘meal unto itself’. Ice cream for dinner? We wouldn’t dare! But granita, just maybe…

Motorino is the latest addition to a variety of new concepts from Kitchen Table in the area, as folks can try authentic Venetian cuisine at Giovane Bacaro (which is also in the Pacific Rim), or walk down the street for a cup of coffee at Super Veloce.

We’ll be honest and say all we can think about right now is a new spot for gelato, though.
