These towns & cities are ranked the most welcoming places in Canada

Canadians are known for their hospitality, but these regions are clearly a cut above the rest, according to a new ranking of the most welcoming places in Canada.

In a new ranking shared with Curiocity by Booking.com, a select number of towns and cities have received special recognition for their hospitable nature.

According to Booking.com, these places stood out for being the most welcoming to visitors throughout 2022.

Canada’s most welcoming regions are located all over the map, from the Maritimes to the Prairies to the Pacific coast.

“Canada’s most welcoming places span from the most easterly point in North America to a 1,200-metre mountain with a wildlife refuge and array of outdoor adventure,” says Booking.com.

Here are the most welcoming places in Canada according to the ranking:

  • Halifax, Nova Scotia
  • St. John’s, Newfoundland
  • Jasper, Alberta
  • North Vancouver, British Columbia
  • Hamilton, Ontario
  • Quebec City, Quebec
  • London, Ontario
  • Niagara on the Lake, Ontario
  • Calgary, Alberta
  • Golden, British Columbia

One region that stands out from the rest, however, is Newfoundland and Labrador.

The province was ranked one of the top 10 most welcoming places on Earth in a global ranking by Booking.com.

The global ranking is based on over 240 million verified customer reviews across 220 countries and territories.

So if you’re planning a staycation any time soon, these places are practically guaranteed to give you a warm welcome.
