One Canadian destination makes list of most Instagrammable places in the world & it’s in Alberta

If a picture is worth a thousand words, what cities, lakes and towns are the most talkative? Whether you’re looking to spice up your social media feed, or just want to fill out your bucket list with beautiful destinations, we’d recommend looking to a new list of the most Instagrammable places in the world – even though only one spot in Canada made the cut.

Published by Big Seven Travel, this year’s ranking of ’50 most Instagrammable Places in the World’ is meant to help photographers, influencers and scrapbookers find the perfect shot in 2023, so pack your bags! It’s quite an impressive list.

Your first stop? With 22,058,065 Instagram hashtags and a whopping 97,000,000,000 views on TikTok, Milan Italy was first overall, which is hardly a surprise.

As Italy’s fashion capital,  this place is a must for internet enthusiasts and architecture fans – not unlike this year’s second-place winter, London, England which racked up 154,408,703 insta-tags and 54,200,000,000 views on Musical.ly’s successor.

Rounding out the top 5, Big Seven saw Paris, France, followed by Istanbul, Turkey and, way on the other side of the pond, New York City, USA.

Now, as we mentioned. Only one Canadian spot made this year’s list – and their choice may or may not surprise you!

Though it didn’t crack the top 10 (or even the top 20) Banff, Alberta, was listed as the 40th most Instagrammable place in the world, having gained 764,100,000 views on TikTok and 3,007,578 tags on IG.

Curious to see who else made the list? This years top 20 are as follows:

1. Milan, Italy
2. London, England
3. Paris, France
4. Istanbul, Turkey
5. New York, USA
6. Nepal
