The Museum of Toronto is getting a permanent home at one of the city’s most prominent intersections.
The organization announced on Tuesday that it will be opening a permanent brick-and-mortar location next year.
The new Museum of Toronto is set to open at 2 Queen St. E. in Spring 2027.
According to the Museum of Toronto, the new permanent home will be “dedicated to the people, places, and stories that have shaped Toronto.”
The museum announced that it is working with Toronto-based architecture studio Superkül on the new attraction, which will transform a former Bank of Montreal branch into a new cultural destination for the city.
Formerly known as Myseum of Toronto before a 2024 rebrand, the organization has curated exhibits that tell the story of the city since 2014, but has lacked a permanent location since its founding.
