These are the best & most affordable workation destinations in Canada according to Airbnb

From coast to coast and all over the world, people have really embraced the ‘WFH’ lifestyle – but of course, they have! From their bed to coffee shops, patios and the beach, many now have the freedom to work while they play and play while they work.

Surprisingly, however, some of the best and most affordable destinations might not even be that far from home according to Airbnb’s new list of top spots for digital nomads in Canada.

a list that includes both small towns and major cities, the popular company determined which locations were the best and most popular among long-term guests and their findings might surprise you!

“Airbnb studied the average price per night for long-term stays, considering destinations that had 1,000 or more long-term stay nights booked in Q1 2022 to determine some of the most affordable destinations for nomadic living in the US and Canada,” they wrote.

Taking into account everything from hospitality, popularity and host income, the following were rated the most reasonably priced in the country this year: 

  • Trois-Rivières, Québec ($35.6 USD per night)
  • Medicine Hat, Alberta ($41.3 USD per night)
  • Gatineau, Québec ($44.5 USD per night)
  • Thorold, Ontario ($46.9 USD per night)
  • Québec City, Québec ($48 USD per night)

In addition to the cities that offered the ‘cheapest’ stays, Airbnb shared that the most desired long-term destinations for the restless in 2022 were Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Victoria, in British Columbia.
