There’s a month-long fundraiser fest coming to town and you can win big

Contributing to a worthy cause is always a satisfying feeling. It’s better if you can have fun while doing so. And it’s an even better feeling when you can support the cause, have fun AND earn a chance to win big. And you can do them all at the upcoming Monster March & Market presented by Calgary non-profit WilderFutures.

Yes, WilderFutures’ annual fundraiser for Children’s Cottage Society is back. And it’s bigger and better this year with even more family-friendly events to enjoy. Take a look—

The Monster Hunt

To begin with, there’s a month-long scavenger hunt, the Monster Hunt. All through October, you have to explore the community of Currie in search of 15 monsters. Once you’ve happily snapped your way through all 15, send your pics to their phone line to enter the Monster March draw.

One lucky winner will win free childcare for an entire year at the childcare center of their choosing.

Then there will be the iconic annual 3-km Monster March. Come October 29th, 2022, the streets of Currie will see costumed walkers, cheer squads, music, mascots and tons more. This is your chance to don (and flaunt) your best monster costumes.

The Monster Market has also gone big this year. Sure, you can get your hands on some cool monster merch. But you can also enjoy a delightful shopping experience, as over 100 local vendors will be setting up shop at the market. And there will be food trucks as well ‘cause no event is ever complete without some great grubs.

Sounds like a lot of fun, eh?

For the uninitiated, WilderFutures is the non-profit wing of the daycare and early child learning centre, Wee Wild Ones. The organization addresses intersecting social issues by educating and empowering children and their caregivers. And with their Monster March fundraiser, they support the phenomenal work of Children’s Cottage Society dedicated to preventing harm and neglect to children.

This year WilderFutures is aiming to collect $100,000 for Children’s Cottage’s new Child and Family Centre. Let’s make it happen Calgary!
