Burger lovers, take note. East Van’s beloved Monarch Burger is opening its first standalone burger joint in the heart of Mount Pleasant this month and you’ll definitely want to check it out for yourself.
Known for its original “Dirty Burger” (cheeseburger) inspired by those coming off the grill at the local rink after hockey practice, Monarch Burger originated as an offering at Campagnolo Upstairs, which later became The American.
Since then, Monarch has popped up at events across East Vancouver, delighting foodies with their simple yet perfected burgers.
Now, Vancouver burger fanatics have a standalone joint they can head to the next time they’re craving one of Chef Robert Belcham’s mouthwatering creations.
“The exile is over,” Belcham jokes. “It’s great to be back where we belong.”
