The rising cost of goods in Canada might be giving your wallet a bit of anxiety these days, and this popular chain wants to give you some relief. MINISO has opened several “$2 Plus” discount stores around the GTA, where you can score treasures for a toonie.
The Chinese retailer operates dozens of stores across the country and is now unveiling its new concept as a high-quality discount store.
The newly-reopened MINISO stores are located in Vaughan Mills, CF Markville in Markham, and Scarborough Town Centre.
The Vaughan Mills store had been under construction for several months and now has a brand new look.

Almost every item in the store is priced at around $2, and all products are under $10.
MINISO sells a wide variety of lifestyle products including home goods, plush toys, stationery, beauty, wellness, snacks, fashion, and electronics.
The chain says that its new discount concept offers “excellent value, well-designed products in response to the effects of rising inflation on consumer budgets.”
According to MINISO, the store takes inspiration from dollar stores but offers “more diverse and higher quality goods than traditional low-cost retailers.”

“With affordable prices and a unique treasure hunt shopping experience in-store, our ‘$2 Plus’ stores aim to be the go-to place for everyone looking for quality lifestyle products on a budget,” said the General Manager of MINISO Overseas Operations in a press release.
Another $2 Plus store has also popped up in Vancouver, and we’ll likely see even more as the concept takes off.
