‘Tis the season of celebrity sightings! It’s no secret that Ontario is a hot spot for Hollywood productions, transforming itself into Wellsbury, Massachusetts for Ginny & Georgia and NYC for Sex/Life and hosting Kevin Hart’s The Man From Toronto. Now, the 6ix is reprising its role as the Big Apple in a new Netflix movie called Luckiest Girl Alive starring Mila Kunis.

The cast and crew have been on set this week, transforming various parts of downtown into Manhattan. Kunis herself has been spotted in between takes by celebrity photographer Sean O’Neill.

Kunis wrapped up in a puffer jacket and rocked a mini skirt with a pair of Uggs while she hung around on set.

The team travelled all over town for filming, from Yorkville to Richmond Street to University Avenue, according to the Toronto Filming Twitter account.

The setup was pretty extensive in the Yorkville area on Wednesday. One Twitter user captured the tents, gear, and crew milling around on set, which practically took up an entire block.

Luckiest Girl Alive is based on Jessica Knoll’s best-selling novel published in 2015. Kunis plays a magazine editor whose idyllic life unravels when she’s forced to confront a shocking incident from her past.

Ontario is more than just a backdrop, though. In fact, the province will star as itself in a new Amazon Prime Video series called The Lake, which is filming in cottage country until September.
