Seattle has long been known as a hub for the arts, most notably music. But did you know that the PNW region is actually the leading regional hub for glass art in the United States? Our very own state of Washington has over 700 glass artists, Pilchuck Glass School, and over 100 glass art studios. That’s why it’s the perfect spot for Refract, the ultimate Seattle glass experience which is happening next weekend October 14th-17th.

Refract is a celebration of the region’s rich glassblowing history and scene. It gives you the opportunity to attend special events, epic exhibitions, parties, studio tours, intriguing demos, and even connect with artists working in this eye catching medium. No matter your glass-blowing knowledge, there’s something for everyone at this festival.

What’s even cooler about this festival is that it’s happening across the state. Some of the event venues include Pilchuk Glass School, The Museum of Glass, Chihuly Boat House, and many more. You can visit studios and showrooms of masters like Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra, Preston Singletary, and more. Of course, you’ll also be able to see works of up-and-coming local glass artists as well.

Whether you want to create your own piece of glass art, watch the masters do their work, or simply view exhibitions, this festival is for you. Keep in mind that masks are required and that proof of vaccination may be required by individual venues.
