Are you one of those people who come alive in the winter months? Sure, summer’s great and all, but can you tear up ski slopes, revel in the glory of fresh powder, and spend the day zooming down Canada’s tallest peaks? Probably not.
MEC, Canada’s premier stop for outdoor adventure, is hosting their annual Season Opener to welcome the winter in all its glory! This is a special event showcasing everything you love about snow sports, and here’s what you can expect this year…
MEC is partnering with POW (Protect Our Winters) Canada to host an all-out celebration. There will be an all-star lineup of ski films to inspire you, an opportunity to connect with your local community of adventure lovers, along with raffles and killer prizes.
Get pumped for the snowy season and meet like-minded people who are passionate about the same things as you. Who knows? You might even meet your next boarding buddy!
For those who are especially passionate about the great outdoors, there will also be a climate change chat and pro-athlete panel to stimulate your mind and help get you involved in the fight against climate change.
Don’t wait to get your tickets because they sell out every year! For a chance to win 2 free VIP tickets, check out the giveaway contest on MEC’s Instagram page. This includes 2 VIP tickets for you and a friend, a cool swag bag, and 10 extra raffle tickets for epic event giveaways. Four lucky winners will be randomly chosen, one for each MEC x POW Season Opener location.
Come down and get excited about all things snow! There will be a ton of epic giveaways at the event, along with a silent auction featuring items like Avalanche safety kits from Backcountry Access, YETI coolers customized by Wkndrsforlife, Arcteryx Jackets, and more!
Tickets are only $20, and all proceeds go to Protect Our Winters Canada, an organization whose goal is to turn outdoor enthusiasts into climate advocates through systemic policy solutions combating climate change.
